Kadin launches export tech platform 'We Buy From Indonesia'

Kadin Chairman Anindya Novyan Bakrie introduced the strategic initiative to President Prabowo Subianto during a high-level meeting between central and regional business leaders and government officials at the State Palace in Jakarta on Friday (July 31).

“Mr. President, we would like to present an initiative entitled ‘We Buy From Indonesia.’ This initiative is not only a catalog, but also a technology and trade platform,” Anindya said during the presentation.

Developed through extensive trade data mapping, the platform targets Indonesia’s massive non-core export sector.

According to Kadin data, out of the nation’s roughly US$300 billion in annual total exports, approximately US$240 billion is generated by commodities and manufactured goods outside of traditional heavyweights like coal, stainless steel, and palm oil.

Anindya noted that Indonesian-made products are already deeply integrated into global supply chains across key sectors, including automotive, aerospace, furniture, and consumer goods.

Through the platform, Kadin aims to systematically map active export supply chains and participating domestic enterprises—making it easier to identify untapped market opportunities.

Anindya explained that the initiative focuses on driving repeat orders from existing international buyers while simultaneously expanding the production capacity of domestic businesses to meet growing global demand.

To support international reach, the official “We Buy From Indonesia” guide and materials have been made available in Indonesian, English, and Mandarin.

Kadin is collaborating closely with the Trade Ministry to validate trade metrics and ensure the platform serves as an accurate, central reference point for national export development.
