Kadin Indonesia Representatives Summoned by Prabowo; Anindya Discusses Boosting Regional Economies
President Prabowo Subianto held a meeting with entrepreneurs from the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) across Indonesia at the State Palace, Jakarta, on Friday. The meeting was reportedly focused on efforts to boost regional economies.
The General Chair of Kadin Indonesia, Anindya Novyan Bakrie, stated that the Kadin officials in attendance represented 38 provinces, ranging from Aceh to Papua. They gathered to discuss and receive directives from President Prabowo regarding the enhancement of regional economies.
“Today, we from Kadin have arrived together with Kadin leaders from 38 provinces. Upon receiving the invitation from the President, they flew in, including those from Papua, West Papua, North Kalimantan, NTT, and Aceh. We wish to discuss how we can work together to increase the economy from the regions,” said Anindya shortly after arriving at the Presidential Palace Complex on Friday, 31 July 2026.
In addition to Kadin officials, Anindya noted that the meeting was also attended by 30 associations and unions. He mentioned that this meeting serves as a follow-up to discussions held with Prabowo at the President’s residence in the Garuda Yaksa Padepokan Complex, Hambalang, Bogor, West Java, in 2025.
“When we were invited to Hambalang before his working meeting, it was predicted that we would face economic and geopolitical conditions such as those we see now. Now, we are sitting down together to address how to respond,” said Anindya.
“From our travels across the regions, we see that everyone is still seeking solutions and remains optimistic, but smoother and better communication is required,” he added.
Alongside the Kadin officials, the meeting was attended by several ministers and heads of agencies from the Red and White Cabinet, including Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, Trade Minister Budi Santoso, Agriculture Minister Andi Amran Sulaiman, MSME Minister Maman Abdurrahman, and Minister of Housing and Residential Areas Maruarar Sirait. Also present were the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia, Minister of Manpower Yassierli, the Head of the State-Owned Enterprises Agency and COO of Danantara Dony Oskaria, and the President Director of Pindad and CTO of Danantara Sigit Puji Santosa.
