Beijing (ANTARA) - Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) Anindya Novyan Bakrie has affirmed his organisation’s commitment to maintaining established relations with the Chinese government and business community. “China is Indonesia’s largest trading partner. So, we must be present here. The trade figure between Indonesia and China last year was around US$168 billion, and I think that figure will continue to grow. Soon we will become China’s number two or even number one trading partner,” Anindya said at the Indonesian Embassy (KBRI) in Beijing on Sunday (21/6). Anin, as Anindya is familiarly known, travelled to China to attend several events, including the China International Supply Chain Expo and the APEC CEO Forum in Beijing, Summer Davos 2026 in Dalian, and meetings with other partners. “Indonesia exports about a quarter of its total exports to China and imports about a third of its goods from China. My task here, together with several Kadin members, is to convey that we not only want to increase trade but also to create shared value,” Anin stated. “I think it all starts with conversation, so we can build more trust, especially amidst geopolitical tensions. The hope is that there will be more collaboration,” Anin added. According to Anin, the first area of focus for Kadin’s discussions will be the electric vehicle sector. “However, we do not only want to focus on the trade of electric vehicles, but also enter the entire supply chain. Not just to serve the Indonesian and Chinese markets, but also the world,” Anin revealed.
