The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) has revealed the key to driving national economic growth amidst various global challenges: job creation across various economic sectors. This affirmation was delivered by Kadin Indonesia Chairman Anindya Bakrie during a Public Hearing Meeting (RDPU) regarding the Kadin Bill with the Legislative Body (Baleg) of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) in Jakarta on Wednesday. The effort is deemed necessary to be supported through increased trade, accelerated industrialisation, and strengthened investment so that the business world continues to develop.

Anindya stated that the current Kadin Law Number 1 of 1987 has served as the organisation’s foundation for decades. However, global economic developments, geopolitical changes, and digital transformation demand adjustments so that the business world can answer challenges and seize existing opportunities. According to him, Kadin’s presence in the RDPU aimed to convey various aspirations of business actors from all over Indonesia so that the business world can continue to grow, develop, and adapt to changing times.

“Because we see the essence is how the business world can continue to thrive, work together, and move up in class,” said Anindya, as quoted from his statement on Tuesday, 18 June 2026. Anindya explained that Kadin, as the big house of the business world that shelters various associations, unions, and provincial Kadin chapters, continues to strive to be a strategic partner of the government in driving national economic growth.

“So the point is how we can together help the government as a strategic partner. But the most important thing is how the Indonesian economy can advance,” he said. Furthermore, Anindya stressed that job creation must be the main focus of national economic development. He mentioned that Indonesia needs around 4 million to 5 million new jobs each year to absorb the continuously growing labour force.

He added that all discussions with the DPR are directed at supporting the progress of the business world while realising the Golden Indonesia 2045 vision. According to him, the direction of Indonesia’s economic development is currently on the right track, although it still requires acceleration and modernisation. “The essence is this is for Indonesia. How can what we aspire for the business world to advance and continue to grow, all the way to Golden Indonesia 2045. Amidst many challenges, and also many people who say they are unsure where Indonesia is heading. But we see the direction is already correct. It just needs to be accelerated and modernised,” he concluded.
