Kadin assesses Prabowo's leadership as focused on policy execution

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Vice Chairman for Foreign Affairs of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), James Riady, believes that President Prabowo Subianto’s leadership is oriented towards accelerating policy implementation and transformation across various sectors. Following a meeting with the President at the State Palace in Jakarta on Friday, James stated that the government’s policy direction is designed to prepare Indonesia’s position for future challenges. “I believe… it is a very visionary, very strategic, and very clear leadership,” he said. According to James, the government is also demonstrating the courage to execute various transformation agendas simultaneously, with an emphasis on programme implementation and achieving results. He cited several key policies, including food self-sufficiency, energy security, industrial downstreaming, public housing development, and medical education reform. James also noted that the government’s economic diplomacy is contributing to increased confidence among global technology companies to establish partnerships with Indonesia. Furthermore, he welcomed the formation of Danantara as an instrument that can strengthen synergy between the government, State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs), and the private sector. James described this approach as an “entrepreneur presidency,” a leadership style that emphasises vision, pragmatism, and decisiveness in decision-making to realise the Golden Indonesia 2045 vision.
