Jusuf Kalla Urges Thorough Investigation of Andrie Yunus Acid Attack Case, Pursue the Masterminds

JAKARTA - Former Vice President of Indonesia Jusuf Kalla has stressed that the case of the acid splashing against KontraS activist Andrie Yunus must be thoroughly investigated until the motive and the parties who ordered the perpetrator are revealed. He emphasised that uncovering the motive and the masterminds is key to explaining the reason for the violent act. In response to the involvement of TNI members in the case, JK stated that an official explanation has already been provided by the relevant institution. As a result of the attack, Andrie suffered burns to several parts of his body, including his eyes, face, chest, and hands. The TNI and police have not yet explained the motive or the person who ordered the act.
