Jusuf Kalla Urges Prabowo to Express Sympathy for Iran

‘Yes, that (the Middle East conflict) we hope he will show sympathy to Iran,’ he said in an interview at the Masjid Kampus UGM after delivering a Ramadan Public Lecture on Campus, on Thursday (5 March). He said the aim of reconciling the warring parties is commendable. However, he judged that reconciling in a war like this is not easy. He noted that if reconciliation is sought, it should not be done by visiting Iran. ‘Rather, the person to visit is (Donald) Trump, because he is the one who attacked first,’ he said. He also suggested the Board of Peace could be a tool to realise peace. ‘How to use the Board of Peace to achieve peace. So Indonesia should ask to utilise the Board of Peace for peace,’ he concluded.
