Jusuf Kalla Steps In, Files Direct Report on Rismon to Bareskrim
Former Vice President of Indonesia’s 10th and 12th administrations, Jusuf Kalla (JK), visited the Bareskrim Polri building to report suspected hoax dissemination allegedly carried out by Rismon Hasiholan Sianipar and several YouTube accounts.
JK, wearing a blue shirt, entered the Bareskrim Polri building at 11:00 WIB. He was accompanied by several of his legal representatives.
JK did not say much about his visit to the media. He only stated that he would file a report with Bareskrim Polri.
“I am going to file a report,” he said briefly.
JK’s lawyer, Abdul Haji Talaohu, confirmed that the visit was to report Rismon. “Yes, Rismon,” he said.
Abdul Haji had previously stated that the complaint would be filed after consulting with Bareskrim Polri on Monday (6/4).
Abdul Haji mentioned that the consultation with the Directorate of General and Cyber Crimes at Bareskrim Polri indicated that additional evidence related to the case was still needed.
“We will file the complaint because there are several data points we need to complete, and we will submit the complaint as soon as possible,” he told reporters at Bareskrim Polri on Tuesday (7/4).
He emphasised that the complaint against Rismon and four YouTube accounts—Ruang Konsensus, Musik Ciamis, Mosato TV, and YouTuber Nusantara—would proceed because they were deemed to have tarnished JK’s dignity.
“Whereas he is a national figure, a statesman, a former two-term Vice President, involved in government for 20 years, with good intentions and no political intrigue aimed at gaining power,” he said.
Meanwhile, Rismon denied mentioning former Vice President Jusuf Kalla as a funder in the alleged fake diploma case of Indonesia’s 7th President Joko Widodo.
Rismon’s lawyer, Jahmada Girsang, stressed that his client never made such a statement. He claimed that the video clips circulating on social media were the result of Artificial Intelligence (AI) manipulation.
“It’s all AI-generated, Rismon never mentioned Mr JK’s name,” he told reporters on Sunday (5/4).
