Jusuf Kalla Reports Rismon Sianipar to Police Over Allegations of Funding Jokowi's Diploma Controversy

Jakarta - The 10th and 12th Vice President of Indonesia, Jusuf Kalla, has reported digital forensic researcher Rismon Sianipar to the National Police’s Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim Polri). The report was received by Bareskrim Polri with receipt number STTL/135/V/2026/BARESKRIM on Wednesday (8/4/2026). “Yes, as you know, I came to file a police report. It turns out the process is quite lengthy,” Jusuf Kalla said after submitting the report. Jusuf Kalla reported allegations of defamation and slander related to claims that he funded the controversy over the diploma of Indonesia’s 7th President, Joko Widodo (Jokowi). “Because he said I funded friends to raise issues about Mr Jokowi’s diploma,” he continued. He emphasised that the allegations are untrue and unfounded. “And it’s clear that I did not do that,” he asserted. Previously, Jusuf Kalla’s legal representative, Abdul Haji Talauho, stated that Rismon referred to JK as an elite official who financed former Minister of Youth and Sports (Menpora) Roy Suryo and others with Rp5 billion to pursue claims of a fake diploma for Indonesia’s 7th President, Joko Widodo. “One of them mentioned that behind the movement questioning Mr Jokowi’s diploma, there is an elite official,” Abdul said. “There, he mentioned that Mr JK gave or handed over money to, if not mistaken, Roy and friends amounting to Rp5 billion, and he claimed to have witnessed it. That’s why we filed this report today,” he added.
