Jusuf Kalla Meets Prabowo, Discusses Energy and Geopolitics

President Prabowo Subianto received a visit from 10th and 12th Vice President Jusuf Kalla at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Thursday, 11 June 2026. Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya stated that the meeting took place after Kalla previously requested time to meet directly with the President. Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya said Jusuf Kalla would come with his son, who is also active in the business world. “Mr Vice President Jusuf Kalla a few days ago asked for time to meet President Prabowo. He will come with his son, who is also a businessman,” Teddy said in his statement, Thursday. Teddy said President Prabowo continues to open communication channels with various national figures. According to him, this gathering is part of efforts to strengthen unity and build collaboration for the nation’s progress. The meeting between Prabowo and Jusuf Kalla and his son discussed energy issues and peace. In the meeting, Prabowo was accompanied by Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya. Kalla was seen leaving the meeting room at the Merdeka Palace around 3:26 p.m. Western Indonesian Time. “This afternoon I have just spoken at length with the President to increase Indonesia’s energy capability, which we know as energy self-sufficiency,” Kalla said after meeting Prabowo. In addition, Kalla said, he and Prabowo also discussed global geopolitical conditions. “We discussed peace. What is happening in countries, in Thailand, Afghanistan, that is what we discussed as well,” he said.
