Jusuf Kalla Did Not Communicate with Jokowi Regarding Reporting Rismon: This Is My Dignity
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The 10th and 12th Vice President of Indonesia, Jusuf Kalla or JK, admitted that he has not communicated with the 7th President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi), regarding the case he reported. JK reported Rismon Sianipar, who accused him of funding Roy Suryo to prosecute the case of Jokowi’s diploma for Rp5 billion. “No, this is my issue. My dignity has been insulted,” JK stressed while at Bareskrim on Wednesday (8/4/2026). “I don’t have that trait, criticising people from behind,” he explained. He reiterated that the accusation is untrue and has been officially reported to Bareskrim Polri with the number STTL/135/V/2026/BARESKRIM. “If I don’t like it, I say I don’t like it, or it’s not true. Why would I pay someone, no way,” he asserted. “None. I don’t know the person. I’ve never met him,” he said. “Well, I don’t know about that. But whatever the rebuttal, he only says it’s not him who did it, but he doesn’t refute the content,” he stated. According to JK, Sianipar’s rebuttal is limited to denying involvement in making the circulating video. “He doesn’t refute it, only that it’s not him who made it. He could have asked someone to do it,” he explained. “He doesn’t refute that I paid Rp5 billion. If he refutes that it’s not true, that Mr JK gave Rp5 billion, gave money, there might be some benefit,” he said.
