Just Rp 1! Jakarta Busway and LRT Fares Apply Until Next Sunday

The Jakarta Provincial Government is implementing a special public transportation fare of Rp 1 for two days, until Sunday (22/03/2026). This policy is intended to liven up the Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah celebrations while facilitating mobility for residents in the capital. “It applies starting today and tomorrow,” said Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung at City Hall in Central Jakarta on Saturday (21/03/2026). Echoing the Governor, Deputy Governor Rano Karno stated that the Rp 1 fare is essentially a free service for the public. “So for two days, it’s actually free; it’s just that the Governor calls it one rupiah,” Rano said. The Jakarta Provincial Government hopes the public will take advantage of this opportunity to visit various tourist spots without being burdened by transportation costs. This facility is expected to increase the happiness of residents celebrating Lebaran in Jakarta. “Insha’Allah, for two days, Jakarta is providing facilities to its people, at least to go on holiday,” Rano explained. This Rp 1 fare policy is predicted to increase the number of mass public transport users heading to crowded spots such as Monas, Ancol, and Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII). Regarding the potential surge in visitors at several tourist attractions, Pramono emphasised that his side has conducted intensive coordination with relevant agencies. The Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) and several Regional Owned Enterprises (BUMD) managing tourist destinations have been put on alert. “We have already coordinated, and this is something that happens repeatedly. I am confident there will be nothing extraordinary because it is managed well,” Pramono said optimistically. The public is urged to maintain order and cleanliness while using public transportation facilities and at tourist locations for mutual comfort during the 2026 Lebaran long holiday.
