Just king will arrive soon
Just king will arrive soon
From Rakyat Merdeka
I hope that what I'm going to write about will bring peace to the community.
On Jan. 8, 2001, about 10:30 a.m., I met a handsome young man in my house, located in Jalan Kebon Pedes, Bogor municipality. He is about 38 years old. When he came I was reading Rakyat Merdeka. He asked me," What are you reading?" I said, "Rakyat Merdeka." He asked again, "About what?" Showing him the newspaper, I said, "About the kiai, venerated Islamic teachers/scholars, in East Java." After reading the story, he said, "Tell those who wish to do good things and say good words about this country that they must not feel afraid. I will protect these people by the power of Allah."
He said that God would not curse the people harboring an intention to unseat President Abdurrahman "Gus Dur" Wahid because there is no God but Allah. If Gus Dur is not good, he will step down as president and the kiai will receive Allah's curse because Allah will not consent to change in already-designated functions on the part of the kiai. It is actually these kiai's job to bring peace to the people, Muslims and non-Muslims alike, because before Allah man is equal. It is not the job of the kiai to scare people.
After finishing his words, he stood up and said again, " The just king will be here soon, but the Satrio Piningit (a hidden true hero) has come down. God willing, there will be peace in this country soon and all traitors will be crushed."
Afterwards, he gave me a piece of paper. There was a message in Arabic on the paper and underneath it there was the name of the Satrio Piningit. Then he left, saying that he had something else to attend to.
That night I couldn't sleep until three the next morning. It was only later the next day that I finally plucked up enough courage to write this letter.
