Judicial Commission Receives 592 Reports of Alleged Judicial Ethics Violations from January to June 2026

The Judicial Commission (KY) received 592 reports of alleged violations of the Code of Ethics and Judicial Conduct of Judges (KEPPH) during the period of January to June 202lar, with 80 of these reports meeting the necessary requirements for follow-up.

“There were 592 reports received, 80 of which have met the formal and material requirements to be pursued,” stated Judicial Commission Member Abhan Misbah in Semarang on Saturday. According to Abhan, the reports received by the KY pertain to alleged misconduct by judges in the performance of their duties.

From the various reports submitted, he continued, seven cases have been processed through to the Judge Honour Board (MKH).

Abhan added that since the government has increased judges’ salaries by up to 280 per cent, judges are expected to work professionally, with integrity, and produce high-quality rulings. “The state has met their needs. Therefore, regarding violations involving transactions, there will be no mercy. Dismissal and criminal prosecution,” he asserted.

He further noted that judicial examinations are a positive development, as they serve as a means to assess the quality and performance of judges. Moving forward, the quality of rulings, including the frequency of examinations regarding specific cases, will serve as a key consideration in the judicial promotion process.
