The Judicial Commission (KY) has opened registration for candidates for Supreme Court Justices for the year 2026. This registration for supreme court justice candidates is being opened at the request of the Supreme Court (MA).

“Fulfilling the request of the Republic of Indonesia Supreme Court in accordance with the Letter from the Deputy Chief Justice of the Republic of Indonesia Supreme Court for Non-Judicial Affairs Number 19/WKMA.NY/KP1.1.1/II/2026 regarding the Filling of Vacant Supreme Court Justice Positions at the Republic of Indonesia Supreme Court, the Republic of Indonesia Judicial Commission invites the best citizens to become Candidates for Supreme Court Justices in the Civil Chamber, Criminal Chamber, Religious Chamber, and Special Tax State Administrative Chamber,” wrote the KY.

Registration is conducted online through the official recruitment page of the Judicial Commission at rekrutmen.komisiyudisial.go.id from 26 March to 16 April 2026 at 23:59 WIB. The selection is carried out in stages, starting from administrative selection, quality selection, health and personality selection, to interviews.

Prospective participants must complete various administrative documents, ranging from curriculum vitae, diplomas, wealth reports, to stamped statements affirming commitment to independence and freedom from conflicts of interest.

  1. Indonesian Citizen;

  2. Devout to God Almighty;

  3. Holding a master’s degree in law with an undergraduate basis in law or another undergraduate degree with expertise in law;

  4. At least 45 (forty-five) years old;

  5. Physically and mentally capable of carrying out duties and obligations;

  6. Having at least 20 (twenty) years of experience as a judge, including having been a high court judge; and

  7. Never having been subject to moderate or severe sanctions for violating the Code of Ethics and Guidelines for Judge Behaviour (KEPPH)

  1. Non-Career
  1. Indonesian Citizen;

  2. Devout to God Almighty;

  3. At least 45 (forty-five) years old;

  4. Physically and mentally capable of carrying out duties and obligations;

  5. Having at least 20 (twenty) years of experience in the legal profession and/or legal academia;

  6. Holding a doctoral and master’s degree in law with expertise in a specific field of law according to the selected chamber, with an undergraduate basis in law or another undergraduate degree with expertise in law;

  7. Never having been sentenced to imprisonment based on a court decision that has acquired final legal force for committing a criminal offence punishable by imprisonment of 5 (five) years or more;

  8. Never having been subject to disciplinary violation sanctions.
