Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Judicial Commission (KY) has officially announced the acceptance of candidates for Supreme Court judges, ad hoc human rights (HAM) judges, and ad hoc corruption (tipikor) judges for 2026. The announcement was posted online on the official KY website, komisiyudisial.go.id, on Thursday. “It has (been announced) on the website,” said Andi Muhammad Asrun, Head of the Judge Recruitment Division of KY. There are two announcements uploaded by KY: the announcement for the acceptance of proposals for Supreme Court judges of the Republic of Indonesia for 2026 and the acceptance of proposals for ad hoc HAM judges and ad hoc tipikor judges. In the announcement, KY invites all the best Indonesian citizens to become candidates for Supreme Court judges in the civil chamber, criminal chamber, religious chamber, and state administrative chamber specialising in tax, who meet the requirements. For Supreme Court judges, applicants can register through the career judge and non-career judge routes, with complete requirements listed on the website. Meanwhile, ad hoc judges do not require the career or non-career judge route and apply to all citizens. Specifically for ad hoc tipikor judges, a minimum of 20 years’ experience in the legal field is required. Online registration opens from 26 March to 16 April 2026 at 23:59 WIB. Registration for Supreme Court judge candidates is conducted online through the website rekrutmen.komisiyudisial.go.id. Previously, Asrun stated that in the recruitment process for Supreme Court and ad hoc judge candidates, KY involves many parties to select candidates who truly meet the requirements, including partnering with the media. They have formed a review and assessment team that will go to the regions to investigate the track records of the candidates. “If (a judge) who goes viral for leaving a trial, they definitely won’t pass. I guarantee they won’t pass,” he said. According to him, KY’s duty is to filter people who have the qualifications, are professional, but also have no integrity flaws. This record is important because the position of Supreme Court judge is the highest judge. KY will officially hold a press conference regarding the opening of registration for Supreme Court judges, ad hoc HAM judges, and ad hoc tipikor judges on Monday (30/3).
