Judicial Commission: 42 Supreme Court Judge Candidates Pass Quality Screening
JAKARTA — The Judicial Commission (KY) has approved 36 Supreme Court judge candidates (CHA), four ad hoc Human Rights (HAM) judges and two ad hoc Corruption Crimes (Tipikor) judges at the Supreme Court. The qualification results were confirmed following a plenary meeting. KY member and Head of Judge Recruitment, Andi Muhammad Asrun, explained that the quality screening assessed candidates’ academic and professional capabilities against established competency standards. The screening involved 137 Supreme Court judge candidates and 76 ad hoc judges for 2026, held on May 5-6. ‘The tests included objective exams, written assignments, legal case resolution, and studies of the Code of Ethics and Guidelines (KEPPH), along with professional work assessments specifically for Supreme Court judge candidates,’ Asrun said on Wednesday (May 27, 2026). KY’s Head of Inter-Institutional Relations, Information Services, and Spokesperson, Anita Kadir, stated that the public can access the quality screening results for Supreme Court judge and ad hoc candidates via the KY website (www.komisiyudisial.go.id) from Tuesday (May 26, 2026). ‘Of the successful Supreme Court judge candidates, 19 chose the Criminal Chamber, six the Civil Chamber, five the Religious Chamber, and six the Tax Chamber (specialised in tax). Meanwhile, the ad hoc judges include four for Human Rights and two for Corruption Crimes at the Supreme Court in 2026,’ Anita said. Candidates listed in Announcement No. 6/PENG/PIM/RH.01.03/05/2026 on the 2026 Supreme Court Judge Quality Screening Results, Announcement No. 7/PENG/PIM/RH.01.03/05/2026 on the 2026 Ad Hoc Human Rights Judges Quality Screening Results, and Announcement No. 8/PENG/PIM/RH.04.03/05/2026 on the 2026 Ad Hoc Corruption Crimes Judges Quality Screening Results are eligible to proceed to the Health and Personality Screening from June 3-5, 2026. ‘The quality screening results are final and cannot be appealed. Candidates who pass the quality screening but fail to attend the Health and Personality Screening will be disqualified,’ Anita said. In the same statement, KY member Abhan urged the public to submit written information or opinions regarding the integrity, capacity, behaviour, and character of Supreme Court judge and ad hoc candidates by August 5, 2026, via email to rekrutmen@komisiyudisial.go.id or by mail to 57 Kramat Raya, Central Jakarta.
