Judge Questions Witness on Alleged Order for Acid Attack on Andrie Yunus

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Deputy Head of D-31 Pampers at the Directorate of BAIS TNI, Lieutenant Colonel Chk Alwi Hakim Nasution, stated that there was no specific order regarding the acid attack on the Deputy Coordinator of the Commission for Missing Persons and Victims of Violence (KontraS), Andrie Yunus. Alwi made this statement while appearing as a witness presented by the auditor in the continuation of the acid attack case trial at the Military Court II-08 Jakarta on Wednesday (6/5/2026). In this case, four TNI BAIS members are on trial as defendants: Sergeant Two Edi Sudarko, First Lieutenant Budhi Hariyanto Widhi, Captain Nandala Dwi Prasetya, and First Lieutenant Sami Lakka. They were offended because Andrie forced his way in and interrupted a meeting discussing the TNI Bill at the Fairmont Hotel, Jakarta. The Chief Judge of the Panel, Fredy Ferdian, questioned the motive of the defendants, who were deemed to have no direct connection to Andrie or the TNI Bill discussion. “Permission. The admission to us is because they felt hurt by Andrie Yunus’s behaviour when he forced his way into the closed meeting, so the defendants felt hurt,” Alwi replied. The judge then delved deeper into the possibility of a specific order behind the attack. “There was none, Your Honour,” Alwi answered. Alwi emphasised that from the investigation conducted, no special operations or orders from the institution were found. “To the best of our knowledge and investigation, there were none. The defendants simply felt humiliated and hurt by Andrie Yunus. Nothing else,” said Alwi. “I don’t know yet, I also want to ask for our knowledge. BAIS has Dir A, B, C, D, or whatever it is. For example, sorry, if this was indeed an order, a command, an intelligence operation, say, which Director would handle that?” the judge asked.
