The panel of judges at the Military Court II-08 Jakarta has ordered the Military Prosecutor II-07 Jakarta to present Andrie Yunus at the trial for the alleged acid attack case on Wednesday, 13 May 2026.

During today’s hearing at the Military Court II-08 Jakarta on Wednesday (6/5), the judge deemed the testimony from the Deputy Coordinator of External Affairs of the Commission for Missing Persons and Victims of Violence (KontraS) to be highly important and necessary, as he is the victim.

Initially, the judge inquired whether Andrie Yunus could be brought to the hearing today. The prosecutor stated that they had sent a letter to the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) regarding the matter.

“Well, before that, I ask for an update on the summoning of Mr Andrie?” asked the presiding judge, Colonel Chk Fredy Ferdian Isnartanto.

“Yes. With permission, Your Honour, we have sent a request letter to the LPSK (Witness and Victim Protection Agency) to have him as an additional witness today, on 30 April we sent that letter to the LPSK. Then, on 4 May, the LPSK replied to our letter stating that Mr Andrie Yunus could not yet attend as a witness in this hearing, as an additional witness in this hearing, because he still needs to undergo medical treatment as planned by the doctor for his care as required,” replied the prosecutor.

Andrie could not be presented as a witness at today’s hearing because he still needs to undergo treatment. The prosecutor stated that Andrie is scheduled to undergo skin graft surgery.

The prosecutor stated that they will continue to endeavour to present Andrie so that he can provide testimony at the hearing, either in person or virtually. The judge then ordered the prosecutor to present Andrie at the hearing on Wednesday (13/5).

“Please, we can summon him again later because today and tomorrow he will certainly be recovering and under treatment. Perhaps summon him again on the 13th [May]. Yes, the 13th is a Wednesday. So, as the second alternative, we can use vicon [video conference],” said the judge.

For information, today’s hearing agenda was the examination of witnesses from the military prosecutor. The prosecutor brought five people to serve as witnesses at the hearing. However, only two were present. The rest are still en route.

In this case, four TNI soldiers are the defendants. They are Sergeant Two Edi Sudarko, First Lieutenant Budhi Hariyanto Widhi, Captain Nandala Dwi Prasetyo, and First Lieutenant Sami Lakka. The prosecutor charges the four TNI soldiers with dousing Andrie Yunus with acid.

The motive, according to the prosecutor, is that the defendants harboured a grudge against Andrie for successfully interrupting the agenda of a parliamentary meeting discussing revisions to the TNI Law held by the DPR at the Fairmont Hotel, Jakarta, in March 2025.

“Due to that incident, the defendants considered Mr Andrie Yunus to have insulted the TNI institution, even trampling on the TNI institution,” said the prosecutor when reading the indictment at a previous hearing.

The defendants are charged with violating Article 469 paragraph 1 subsidiary to Article 468 paragraph 1 further subsidiary to Article 467 paragraph 1 in conjunction with paragraph 2 in conjunction with Article 20 letter C of Law Number 1 of 2023 on the Criminal Code.
