The presiding judge, Purwanto S Abdullah, declared the defendant to be detained while reading the verdict at the Central Jakarta Corruption Court on Tuesday (12/5/2026).

The judge stated that the period of city detention already served by Ibam would be fully deducted from the four-year prison sentence. The judge noted that Ibam’s city detention status had legally ended on 7 May 2026.

“Given that the panel of judges will impose a prison sentence on the defendant and the defendant’s detention period in the form of city detention has legally ended on 7 May 2026, the panel of judges opines that the verdict must order the defendant to be placed in state detention to serve the imposed prison sentence,” the judge stated.

Sentenced to Four Years in Prison

Previously, Ibrahim Arief alias Ibam was sentenced to four years in prison. The judge declared Ibam guilty in the alleged corruption case concerning the procurement of Chromebooks and Chrome Device Management (CDM).

“Declaring the defendant Ibrahim Arief alias Ibam proven legally and convincingly guilty of committing the criminal act of corruption jointly as charged in the subsidiarity indictment,” said the presiding judge Purwanto S Abdullah while reading the verdict at the Central Jakarta Corruption Court on Tuesday (12/5/2026).

“Imposing on the defendant Ibrahim Arief alias Ibam, therefore, a prison sentence of four years,” the judge added.

Ibam was also ordered to pay a fine of Rp 500 million. If the fine is not paid, it will be replaced with imprisonment for 120 days.

The judge stated that Ibam was guilty of violating Article 3 in conjunction with Article 18 of the Corruption Offences Law in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph 1 first of the old Criminal Code.

This verdict is far lower than the prosecutors’ demand. Previously, Ibam was demanded 15 years in prison, a fine of Rp 1 billion subsidiarity 190 days imprisonment. The prosecutors also demanded that Ibam pay restitution of Rp 16.92 billion subsidiarity 7 years and 6 months in prison.
