Judge acquits Delpedro and others in incitement to protest case

A panel of judges at the Central Jakarta District Court on Friday, 6 March 2026, acquitted four defendants in a case of alleged incitement to protests linked to demonstrations at the end of August 2025. The defendants were Delpedro Marhaen, Executive Director of Lokataru; Muzaffar Salim, staff of Lokataru Faoundation; Syahdan Husein, admin of the Twitter handle @gejayanmemanggil; and Khariq Anhar, a student of Universitas Riau. The court’s decision follows the charges of incitement that authorities said had spurred the protests. The acquittal means the panel could not establish beyond reasonable doubt that the defendants had incited the demonstrations.
