Judge acquits Delpedro and co-defendants in August demonstration incitement case

Executive Director of Lokataru Foundation, Delpedro Marhaen Rismansyah, was acquitted by the presiding judge of the panel in the case of incitement related to the August demonstration that affected him. ‘To adjudicate, stating that defendant one Delpedro Marhaen Rismansyah, defendant two Muzaffar Salim, defendant three Syahdan Husein and defendant four Khariq Anhar, as stated above, were not proven to have committed acts punishable under the charges as alleged in the second, third and fourth alternatives of the Public Prosecutor’s indictment,’ said the Chief Judge of the Panel, Harika Nova Yeri, in the Jakarta Pusat District Court courtroom, on Friday (6/3). In the verdict, Delpedro together with three other defendants—the Lokataru staff member Muzaffar Salim, the admin of the account @gejayanmemanggil, Syahdan Husein, and Universitas Riau student Khariq Anhar—were acquitted of all charges brought by the Public Prosecutor, the judge added. ‘Therefore, the defendants are therefore acquitted of all charges by the Prosecutor’s indictment.’ Earlier, Delpedro and his co-defendants were charged by the prosecutor with a two-year prison sentence. ‘Having thus imposed a penalty on defendant one Delpedro Marhaen Rismansyah, defendant two Muzaffar Salim, defendant three Syahdan Husein, and defendant four Khariq Anhar, with a two-year prison term,’ read the indictment during the proceedings of the sentence on Friday (27/2). Delpedro was charged under Article 28(3) in conjunction with Article 45A(3) of Law No. 11 of 2008 as amended by Law No. 1 of 2024 on the Second Amendment to Law No. 11 of 2008 on Information and Electronic Transactions (ITE) in conjunction with Article 55(1) 1st paragraph of the Penal Code (KUHP). They were also charged under Article 160 KUHP in conjunction with Article 55(1) 1st paragraph KUHP or Article 76H in conjunction with Article 15 and Article 87 of Law No. 35 of 2014 on Amendments to Law No. 23 of 2002 on Child Protection in conjunction with Article 55(1) 1st paragraph KUHP. (Z-10). The panel of judges at the Jakarta Pusat District Court admonished Delpedro Marhaen Rismansyah in the hearing of the alleged incitement related to the August 2025 demonstrations.
