The panel of judges at the East Jakarta District Court has granted the objection or exception plea submitted by Tifauziah Tyassuma, also known as Dr Tifa, the defendant in the case concerning allegations of a fake diploma belonging to Indonesia’s 7th President, Joko Widodo. ‘Adjudicating: declares that the objection from the Defendant’s team of advocates is accepted,’ said presiding judge Christina Endarwati while reading the interim decision at the East Jakarta District Court on Thursday (23/7). The judge stated that the indictment from the Public Prosecutor in case number 301/Pid.Sus/2026/PN Jkt.Tim on behalf of Defendant Tifauziah Tyassuma was not meticulous and therefore null and void by law. Consequently, the examination of the case cannot proceed to the evidentiary stage in court. ‘Ordering the return of this case file to the Public Prosecutor,’ the judge said. ‘Charging the case costs to the state,’ she continued. The case was examined and adjudicated by presiding judge Christina Endarwati with member judges Rudi Rafli Siregar and Mathilda Chrystina Katarina. Previously, the prosecutor had charged Tifa with committing criminal defamation and slander against Jokowi as the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia over the fake diploma allegations. The indictment was read out on Thursday, 2 July 2026. In this case, Tifa’s colleague KMRT Roy Suryo is also facing legal proceedings, though his case is still at the pre-trial stage and has not yet reached the main trial.
