JTT operates 16 toll booths at Cikampek Utama Gateway to ensure transaction smoothness
Karawang — PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol (JTT) is operating 16 toll booths at Cikampek Utama Gateway to ensure transaction smoothness and reduce potential vehicle queuing heading east on the Trans Java toll road during the 2026 Lebaran holiday period.
VP Corporate Secretary and Legal of PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol, Ria Marlinda Paallo, stated in Karawang, West Java, on Saturday, that the Lebaran holiday season has recorded an increase in vehicle mobility heading east on the Trans Java toll road.
During the period from H-10 to H-9 (11–12 March 2026), 62,503 vehicles were recorded passing through Cikampek Utama Gateway heading east. This vehicle count increased 13.68 per cent compared to normal traffic of 54,982 vehicles.
To anticipate the increase in vehicle traffic, JTT is operating 16 toll booths at Cikampek Utama Gateway to ensure transaction smoothness and reduce potential vehicle queuing heading east on the Trans Java toll road.
For vehicles travelling from east Trans Java towards Jakarta through Cikampek Utama Gateway, 56,391 vehicles were recorded, an increase of 8.98 per cent compared to normal traffic of 51,742 vehicles.
Meanwhile, PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk is prepared to serve approximately 3.53 million vehicles projected to pass through the Greater Jakarta area via four main toll gateways: Cikampek Utama Gateway, Kalihurip Utama Gateway, Ciawi Gateway, and Cikupa Gateway during the 21-day Lebaran holiday period.
Director General of Jasa Marga, Rivan A. Purwantono, stated that traffic movement projections during the Lebaran period are based on analysis of historical data and monitoring conducted through the Jasamarga Tollroad Command Centre (JMTC).
The control centre is equipped with visual monitoring technology and supported by machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI) to read traffic movement patterns over time. This serves as the basis for Jasa Marga to conduct traffic engineering in a more responsive and effective manner.
“To anticipate the increase in traffic, Jasa Marga has prepared several operational service strategies for the 2026 Lebaran period, which include the operation of functional lanes, strengthening operational service fleets, optimising traffic monitoring technology, improving toll road infrastructure readiness, and enhancing rest area services,” he said.
