JSX receives bomb threat

JAKARTA: Only three days after Jakarta Police chief Insp. Gen. Firman Gani vowed to charge hoaxers under the Antiterrorism Law, the Jakarta Stock Exchange on Jl. Sudirman, South Jakarta, received a bomb threat at about 11:30 p.m. on Thursday.

The Jakarta Police said on Friday that the anonymous caller dialed 112, the police emergency line, and claimed he had planted a bomb in the JSX parking structure and it was ready to go off.

The police bomb squad, led by Brig. Arie, combed the building immediately until 1 a.m. on Friday, but they did not find any bomb or suspicious packages, and declared the building safe.

Firman had promised to lay criminal charges against hoaxers after the Jakarta Police headquarters received a bomb threat on Tuesday, which turned out to be a prank. -- Antara
