JSX, Danareksa ink deal

JAKARTA (JP): The Jakarta Stock Exchange (JSX) and Danareksa
Investment Management have signed a memorandum of understanding
on developing investment products that comply with the Islamic
syariah law.

"By signing this MOU, both JSX and Danareksa Investment are
committed to optimizing all relevant efforts in developing any
syariah-related investment instruments," JSX corporate
communications division head Intan Abdams said on Thursday.

Intan said the background of the cooperation was mutual
concern that there should be alternative investment instruments
to accommodate the aspirations of investors who adhered to
Islamic law.

"These groups of potential investors can be either
international or domestic," she added. (udi)
