JSX closed on leap year

JAKARTA (JP): The Jakarta Stock Exchange (JSX) will be closed on Tuesday (Feb. 29) in anticipation of possible computer glitches on the date, the extra day in the new millennium's first leap year.

The JSX said trading would resume on Wednesday.

A leap year, which falls every four years, has 366 days with Feb. 29 as the extra day. Many investors fear that the exchange's computerized system does not accommodate such a change.(udi)
