Artistically inclined young people paint pictures on walls near
the People's Consultative Assembly building in Central Jakarta as
part of JakArt@2001 activities. The walls have since been painted
over. The JakArt@2001 festival promoted art events throughout the
city.

Visitors (photo above) enjoy Bung Karno's collection at the
Gedung Pola, Central Jakarta. For the first time artworks
collected by the late Indonesian president have been put on
public display. This year is also a promising one for female
artists like painter Erica (photo right).
