FINAL PREPARATIONS: Traditional, hand-built ship Borobudur, made
by As'ad Abdullah al-Madani and his craftsmen from Pagerungan
Kecil island, Madura, East Java, docks at Marina Beach, Ancol,
North Jakarta, before sailing to Africa as part of the Borobudur
Ship Expedition, aimed at retracing the Cinnamon Route, a trade
route taken by Indonesian sailors in previous centuries.
President Megawati Soekarnoputri is expected to officially send
off the ship on Friday.
