Four killed, 7 injured in traffic accident

JAKARTA (JP): Four people, including a retired police
brigadier general, died when their public transit minibus was
smashed by an inter-city bus near the UKI university in East
Jakarta yesterday afternoon.

Seven other passengers of the minibus were injured in the
accident which took place at 11:30 a.m..

No further explanation was available from the Kramat Jati
police station which is handling the accident.

Meanwhile Police sources said that Brig. Gen. Subroto Prawoto,
a resident of Jl. Kalasan 45B, Menteng, Central Jakarta, was on-
board the Koasi minibus along with others when a big bus heading
to the Cililitan bus terminal suddenly smashed the back of their
minibus.

The inter-city bus is believed to be operated by Siba Utama
transportation company.

Subroto' body and the other three victims were kept at the
Cipto Mangunkusumo General Hospital for autopsy. (bsr)
