JP beats Pos Kota 3-0

The Jakarta Post badminton team knocked out Pos Kota 3-0 in the
opening day of the Media Badminton Tournament at the Bung Karno
Badminton Hall here on Monday.

A'an Suryana opened The Post's sail to victory with the 15-1,
15-0 thumping of Berlian Siregar. Pandaya G./Agustinus N. doubled
the lead after overcoming a set down to seal a 11-15, 15-9, 19-9
win over Gunawan/Nova L.

Leo Wahyudi/Sodik faced little difficulty in dispatching
Bambang P./Agus S., 15-1, 15-1 in the second doubles tie.

Fourteen print and electronic media teams are taking part in
the KO competition. Other teams to reach the next stage of the
competition were Bisnis Indonesia, a 3-0 winner over Sinar
Harapan, and TVRI, beating Terbit 2-1. --JP
