Joy of SDN 07 Palmerah Pupils as They Receive Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) from Polri's SPPG During Ramadan
Joy radiates on the faces of pupils at SDN 07 Pagi Palmerah in West Jakarta as they eagerly welcome the arrival of Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) distributed by Polri’s SPPG Palmerah. Detikcom observed the MBG distribution at SDN 07 Pagi Palmerah on Wednesday, 25 February 2026, as the meals continued to be handed out during Ramadan, with pupils cheering. Some jostled to be first to receive MBG. The teacher distributing the meals deftly handed out MBG packages one by one. One pupil expressing happiness at receiving MBG during Ramadan is Anisa Paramitha, a second-grade pupil who said she was happy to receive MBG during the fasting month. “So happy,” Anisa said. Anisa also revealed her favourite MBG menu during Ramadan: she loves melon pudding and milk. “I like milk and melon pudding the most,” Anisa said. Anisa, fasting that day, said she would eat the MBG edition during iftar. “I’ll eat it when breaking fast. So happy to still get MBG during Ramadan. Thank you Mr Prabowo,” Anisa added. Firly Ratu Anandita, a classmate of Anisa, also expressed enthusiasm for the MBG menus shared by SPPG Polri Palmerah during Ramadan. She said she also likes the milk and melon pudding; “I like the school’s milk and the pudding,” she said. Firly, who was fasting that day, said she would eat all MBG menus at iftar. She also thanked President Prabowo for this MBG programme. “I’ll eat it at iftar. Very happy to get this, thank you Mr Prabowo,” she added. Mustaqim, Head of SPPG Polri Palmerah, assured the nutritional standards of foods provided to beneficiaries are maintained during Ramadan. “For distribution during Ramadan, we receive raw materials as usual from suppliers, we check their quality and quantity. When fit, we process the raw materials ourselves. So during this Ramadan distribution, for the dry menu, we still prepare the foods ourselves,” Mustaqim told Detikcom. SPPG Polri Palmerah staff have been conducting early checks of processed ingredients for MBG. To maintain the nutritional quality, SPPG Polri Palmerah does not use ultra-processed foods. All menus are produced in-house prioritising fresh ingredients and balanced nutrition. “We ensure the foods remain within good nutritional standards — not too sweet, not too salty — so the meals remain suitable and nutritious; we maintain quality for distribution to beneficiaries,” Mustaqim said. In addition, all foods served will be checked for cleanliness and suitability via rapid tests. The Dokkes team of West Jakarta Metro Police checks four types of hazardous substances in SPPG Polri Palmerah: nitrite, formalin, cyanide and arsenic. Mustaqim said SPPG Polri Palmerah continually strives to diversify menus during Ramadan. He said the group does not rappel; they produce and distribute daily, given the capacity of SPPG and to maintain quality. “For the menus we produce at SPPG Polri Palmerah, we make them new every day. So as directed, we do not rappel. We produce daily and distribute daily, because we are mindful of our SPPG’s capacity and to maintain the quality of our production; the menus change daily and none are the same for a week,” he added. Additionally, to support menu variation, SPPG Polri Palmerah has a food warehouse that can supply ingredients at any time. According to Mustaqim, the Polri food warehouse at SPPG Palmerah is well stocked, with various types of fish, vegetables and other food items. “The food security warehouse at SPPG Palmerah includes biofog, containing fish, fish farming and hydroponics. Through this food security warehouse, Polri aims to build an ecosystem to supply SPPG. So, the raw materials obtained by SPPG are hoped to be supplied from this warehouse itself,” he said. “From hydroponics, we cultivate a range of vegetables, from pokcoy, sawi hijau, spinach, and others. And for fish raised there, fish such as patin (javanese catfish) can be filleted, followed by catfish, tilapia, and mujair, among others,” he concluded.
