Journey of Biofar SS Inventor Published in Book, to be Launched at UI
The University of Indonesia (UI) will host the launch and review of the book ‘Jejak Inspirasi’ (Trail of Inspiration) on Saturday (25/7/2026). The book highlights the journey of Muhammad Ja’far Hasibuan in pursuing education and developing the Biofar SS innovation.
Organised by Mega Press Nusantara, the event will discuss the book ‘Penemu Biofar SS: Anak Desa dari 70 Ribu Mendunia’ (The Inventor of Biofar SS: A Village Boy from 70 Thousand Goes Global) by Muhammad Ja’far Hasibuan. The event is scheduled to take place in a hybrid format at the Aula G, Faculty of Public Health (FKM), UI, Depok, and via Zoom, allowing participants from various countries to join.
The book narrates the journey of Muhammad Ja’far Hasibuan, a student of the Master’s Programme in Community Nutrition at the Faculty of Public Health, University of North Sumatra (FKM USU). In the book, Ja’far recounts his experience of migrating from Sampuran Simarloting village in North Sumatra with only Rp70,000, working while continuing his education, and eventually developing Biofar SS, a traditional medicine innovation made from natural ingredients intended for treating skin diseases.
Muhammad Ja’far stated that the book not only tells his life story but also invites readers to see the importance of education, perseverance, and social responsibility. ‘This activity is not merely a celebration of personal achievement, but an invitation for us all to reflect that knowledge accompanied by perseverance, prayer, and social responsibility will always find a way to provide the widest possible benefit,’ he said.
Several academics are scheduled to speak at the book review, including Professor Adang Bachtiar from FKM UI, Rosleny Marliani, Vice Dean II of the Faculty of Psychology at UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung, and Zulhaida Lubis, Professor of Community Nutrition at FKM USU. The committee also stated that international motivator Merry Riana is still confirming her attendance. Several ministers have also been invited.
The committee has provided a quota of 500 in-person participants and 1,500 online participants. The event is open to the public free of charge, targeting students, academics, researchers, practitioners, and the general public. The book launch and review are expected to promote a culture of literacy and innovation, as well as provide a space for sharing experiences about educational journeys and innovation development.
