Journalists to hold cleaning program

JAKARTA (JP): Journalists covering North Jakarta mayoralty
activities will hold a cleanliness program starting next Friday.

The program will involve mayoralty officials, military
officers and the public, Antara reported on Saturday.

"Mayor Suprawito backs up the program," said Aliston
Radjagukguk, mayor assistant for administration and development.

"We hope the journalist-sponsored program increases public
awareness in making North Jakarta clean, healthy, nice and
orderly," he said.

Among the five mayoralties in the city, only North Jakarta has
not been awarded the Adipura Award. The Adipura Award is given by
President Soeharto to cities or towns for cleanliness.

Mayor Suprawito appealed to people to take part in the
cleaning program.(29)
