Journalists in Semarang Hold Solidarity Action and Prayer for Missing Journalists

A number of journalists lit candles following a joint prayer session for the safety of five journalists, two crew members, and a guide who lost contact while covering the eruption of Mount Anak Krakatau during a solidarity action in Semarang, Central Java, on Wednesday (16/09/2026).

The Journalist Safety Committee (KKJ) for Central Java and DIY organised the solidarity action, featuring collective prayers and candlelight vigils. The event served as a gesture of moral support for the ongoing search efforts for the five journalists, two crew members, and one guide who went missing while reporting on the volcanic activity.
