Journalists awarded

JAKARTA (JP): Director General of Press and Graphics Subrata presented, on behalf of Minister of Information Harmoko, the 1996 Moh. Husni Thamrin Journalistic Awards to three journalists and one newspaper last Friday.

Ilham Bintang won for his article on national film published by the Angkatan Bersenjata daily, while R. Gatot E. Cahyono was awarded for his cartoons in the Suara Pembaruan evening daily. Media Indonesia photographer Rizal Syahisa won for his photo Banjir (Flood).

The Pelita daily was awarded for its Kebangkitan Nasional Baru (The New National Awakening) editorial.

The Moh. Husni Thamrin journalistic award presentation was sponsored by the Jakarta branch of the Association of Indonesian Journalists.

Jakarta Governor Surjadi Soedirdja was among the VIPs at the handing over ceremony in Jakarta. (sur)
