JAKARTA – Toll road users who frequently travel along the Jakarta Outer Ring Road (JORR) section towards Serpong should prepare to manage their travel time in advance. The toll road operator is once again carrying out infrastructure repairs to ensure the asphalt remains in prime condition for passing vehicles. Alvin Andituahta Singarimbun, Senior Manager of Representative Office 1 JMT, stated that the JORR toll road is one of the strategic routes in the Jabodetabek region, playing a crucial role in connecting various areas, from business centres and industrial zones to access routes to airports and ports. “The high daily traffic volume on this route makes maintenance and quality improvements essential steps in supporting the smooth mobility of the community and logistics distribution,” Alvin said in his official statement. Toll road users can anticipate their journeys as the lanes under repair will be temporarily closed during the work, though drivers can still use the other lanes. Technically, there are two main points of reconstruction work focused on the Cikunir Canalisation towards Serpong. The first phase begins on the Outer Shoulder Lane at Cikunir Canalisation, taking place from Monday, 13 April 2026 at 10:00 WIB to Thursday, 16 April 2026 at 05:00 WIB. Work on the road shoulder typically impacts the manoeuvring space for vehicles entering the canalisation area. Subsequently, the work will shift to the central road area to ensure the pavement structure is strong enough to withstand heavy vehicle loads. The schedule for Lane 2 at Cikunir Canalisation is from Friday, 17 April 2026 at 10:00 WIB to Monday, 20 April 2026 at 05:00 WIB. Given that the work is on an active lane, increased traffic density is predicted, especially during rush hours. The operator assures that during the process, safety signage and customer service personnel will be stationed at the location. However, congestion remains a risk that is difficult to avoid due to the reduced lane capacity at those points.
