JORR project to start in September
JAKARTA: After being delayed for years by the economic crisis,
the first phase of the Jakarta Outer Ring Road project will begin
this September.
The corporate secretary of toll operator PT Jasa Marga, Hengky
Herwanto, told Antara news agency the Rp 400 billion, eight
kilometers of road that comprise the first phase of the project
would be completed in between 12 and 16 months.
The construction of the Taman Mini-Ceger toll road and the
Pondok Pinang-Veteran toll road is expected to be completed by
August 2003, while the construction of the road connecting Ceger
and Jl. Raya Hankam, and the road connecting Jl. Veteran and
Ulujami is expected to be completed by the end of next year.
He said the winners of the bids for the first phase of the
project would be announced on Aug. 12.
In September, the company will open the tender for the second
phase of the project; and eight-kilometer road connecting Jl.
Raya Hankam and Cikunir.--JP
