Unlike the previous year, which was marked by injury drama, “Martinator” is now confirmed to be competing from the first series, which will soon begin. Jorge Martin’s physical condition is now much fitter, even though he underwent additional surgery at the end of last year to speed up the recovery process. Although he missed the pre-season test in Sepang, the Spanish rider feels more prepared to compete on his RS-GP motorcycle. Jorge Martin does not want to repeat last season’s poor record, where he spent more time off the track due to a serious injury. Ahead of the opening series at MotoGP Thailand 2026, he emphasised the importance of a more measured approach in every race. “Rather than being optimistic, I want to be smart and do my job well,” said Martin on Thursday (26/2/2026) as quoted by Motorsport. Past failures due to pushing himself too hard have become a valuable lesson for the rider. Martin now chooses to be more cautious and not take unnecessary risks. “The test here last week went well for me, and the first race will also be held on the same circuit,” said Martin. “I don’t want to take more risks than I can handle, like what happened to me last year.” “I don’t want to take unnecessary risks, like I have in the past,” he continued. In that test, he finished eighth, while his Aprilia teammate, Marco Bezzecchi, and Trackhouse rider, Ai Ogura, successfully topped the standings. “My body reacted well after the test, but I was exhausted. For two days I couldn’t move or even sleep,” said Jorge Martin.
