Jordan's King Praises Prabowo's Efforts in Gaza Peace Process

President Prabowo Subianto and King Abdullah II of Jordan discussed the Palestinian issue during a bilateral meeting on Wednesday, February 25, 2026. The meeting between Prabowo and King Abdullah II took place at the Basman Palace in Amman, Jordan.

King Abdullah II expressed his appreciation to Prabowo for Indonesia’s efforts in promoting a two-state solution to resolve the conflict between Israel and Palestine.

“I know that you are committed to bringing peace and stability, and once again your very courageous commitment to protecting the people of Gaza, I think is very important,” said King Abdullah II at the Basman Palace in Jordan on Wednesday.

He also said he looked forward to further discussions on the issue, including how to help fellow Muslims in Gaza resolve the conflict.

According to King Abdullah II, Prabowo has significant political influence in the Middle East. “I think your political weight and Indonesia’s economic strength in many major projects in the region are very, very important, and I know that your country has just begun to take those steps,” he said.

At the same event, Prabowo Subianto stated that Indonesia is ready to make various efforts to promote peace in Palestine. According to Prabowo, a two-state solution with an independent Palestine is the only way to achieve lasting peace.

“Yes, Indonesia is committed to doing whatever we can to achieve a lasting solution. In our view, the only truly sustainable solution is a two-state solution with an independent Palestine,” said Prabowo.

The former Minister of Defense explained that Indonesia’s involvement in the Board of Peace and its support for the 20-point plan initiated by US President Donald Trump are part of Indonesia’s active contribution to finding a long-term solution to the conflict in the Palestinian territories. “All of this is done with the aim and effort to do whatever we can, in order to achieve that lasting solution,” said Prabowo.
