Jordan's King Praises Prabowo: Your Commitment to Protecting the People of Gaza is Very Courageous

AMMAN, KOMPAS.com - President Prabowo Subianto and King Abdullah II of Jordan discussed the two-state solution and Palestinian independence during a bilateral meeting at the Basman Palace in Amman, Jordan, on Wednesday (25/2/2026).

The King of Jordan began by praising Indonesia’s commitment to bringing peace and stability to Gaza, which he considered very important.

“Your very courageous commitment to protecting the people of Gaza, I think, is very important,” King Abdullah II told Prabowo.

According to King Abdullah II, President Prabowo has significant political influence in the region.

“I think your political weight and Indonesia’s economic strength in many major projects in this region are very, very important, and I know that your country has just begun to take those steps,” he explained.

In response, Prabowo stated that Indonesia is committed to doing whatever it can to achieve the two-state solution.

He said that this is why Indonesia decided to join the Board of Peace initiative established by US President Donald Trump.

“And that is why when we were invited to join the Board of Peace, and we supported President Trump’s 20-point plan, it was all done with the view and effort to do whatever we can to achieve that lasting solution,” Prabowo said.
