Jordanian King to Prabowo: Ramadan Mubarak, my dear brother

The greeting was conveyed directly by King Abdullah II to his friend, President Prabowo, during a bilateral meeting at the Basman Palace, Amman, Jordan, on Wednesday (25/2). The meeting between the two friends took place during the holy month of Ramadan.

“Ramadan Mubarak, my dear brother,” said King Abdullah II to President Prabowo.

Ramadan Mubarak is an expression of greeting that literally means “Blessed Ramadan” or “Ramadan that brings blessings”.

The King continued, saying that he also looked forward to reciprocating President Prabowo’s visit by returning to Jakarta.

In the same meeting, President Prabowo also reciprocated the greetings given by King Abdullah II.

“On behalf of Indonesia and myself, I would also like to wish Ramadan Mubarak to the people of Jordan, and thank you for the warm welcome, it is a great honor given to me,” said President Prabowo to the King of Jordan.

The President then revealed that Jordan has always been a second home to him.

The President’s visit to Amman on February 24-25 was the second state visit made by President Prabowo, after his first visit to Amman as President of the Republic of Indonesia on April 14-15, 2025.

The King of Jordan reciprocated President Prabowo’s visit by visiting Jakarta on November 14-15, 2025.

For the state visit in Jordan, on Wednesday, President Prabowo met with the King of Jordan at the Basman Palace, Amman.

President Prabowo was greeted with a state ceremony, after which the King of Jordan, as the host, invited his friend for a private meeting.

In the limited meeting, Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah al-Hashimi was also present.

After that, President Prabowo and the King of Jordan led a bilateral meeting between Indonesia and Jordan, which was also attended by ministers from each country.

From the Indonesian side, President Prabowo was accompanied by Foreign Minister Sugiono, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.

Meanwhile, the King of Jordan was accompanied by Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah al-Hashimi, Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, and several other state officials and military leaders.

After completing the bilateral meeting at the Basman Palace, the King of Jordan then escorted President Prabowo, who is his long-time friend, to the Royal Jordanian Air Force Base Marka. King Abdullah II drove the vehicle carrying himself and President Prabowo.

The King of Jordan then escorted his friend to the top of the plane’s stairs. President Prabowo then boarded the Garuda Indonesia PK-GIF plane and continued his visit to Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
