Jordanian King Praises Prabowo for Consistent Support of Palestine

Amman, Jordan (ANTARA) - The King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, King Abdullah II ibn Al-Hussein, praised President Prabowo Subianto for his consistent defence of the Palestinian people.

“Mr. President’s support for the future of the Palestinian people is something that truly warms our hearts. I know that Mr. President is committed to realising peace and tranquility (in Palestine),” said the King of Jordan to President Prabowo during a bilateral meeting at the Basman Palace, Amman, Jordan, on Wednesday (25/2).

The King Abdullah II then mentioned “President Prabowo’s commitment to protecting the Palestinian people” as an act of courage.

“In my opinion, this is very important. I look forward to this discussion, especially on how we can help our brothers and sisters in their efforts (to achieve peace),” continued the King of Jordan.

The King Abdullah II also praised Prabowo’s leadership, which he considered important for supporting a number of major projects in the region.

“I know that your country is interested in doing so,” said the King of Jordan.

The bilateral meeting at the Basman Palace on Wednesday was the main agenda of President Prabowo’s visit to Amman on 24-25 February 2026.

During the meeting, President Prabowo expressed his concern about the violence carried out by Zionist Israel against the Palestinian people in the West Bank.

According to the President, the incidents in the West Bank could hinder the peace efforts in Gaza by the Board of Peace (BoP).

“We are very concerned about the incidents that are happening in the West Bank. We feel that these incidents could hinder any success in the efforts that we are all trying to do together in Gaza,” said President Prabowo to the King of Jordan.

After completing the bilateral meeting at the Basman Palace, the King of Jordan then escorted President Prabowo, who is his long-time friend, to the Jordanian Air Force Marka Air Base. King Abdullah II drove the vehicle carrying him and President Prabowo himself.

The King of Jordan then escorted his friend to the top of the aircraft stairs. President Prabowo then boarded the Garuda Indonesia PK-GIF aircraft and continued his visit to Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
