Jordanian King Drives Prabowo to Airport After Bilateral Meeting

Amman, Jordan (ANTARA) - The King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, King Abdullah II ibn Al-Hussein, drove his friend, President Prabowo Subianto, from the Basman Palace to the Marka Air Force Base in Amman, Jordan, on Wednesday afternoon.

This moment occurred after the two leaders had completed their bilateral meeting earlier that day.

At the Marka Air Base, the car driven by King Abdullah II was parked in the aircraft parking area, not far from the red carpet that stretched to the top of the aircraft stairs.

King Abdullah II stepped out of the car first, and together with President Prabowo, they walked towards the aircraft stairs.

On either side of the red carpet leading to the aircraft stairs, a guard of honour from the Royal Jordanian Armed Forces stood in formation, paying their respects to the King of Jordan and President Prabowo.

Behind the two leaders was the Crown Prince, Hussein bin Abdullah al-Hashimi, who also saw President Prabowo off.

President Prabowo had a brief conversation with his friend, the King of Jordan, before boarding the aircraft. President Prabowo then boarded the Garuda PK-GIF aircraft, and the King of Jordan turned around, standing near his car to watch the aircraft carrying President Prabowo take off.

During this moment, four F16 fighter jets from the Royal Jordanian Air Force performed a flypast, flying low and at high speed as a sign of respect to President Prabowo and the King of Jordan.

Shortly after, the Garuda Indonesia aircraft carrying President Prabowo took off, leaving Jordan for Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

On the flight to Dubai, President Prabowo was accompanied by Foreign Minister Sugiono, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, and Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia.

In Amman, President Prabowo held a tête-à-tête meeting and a bilateral meeting with King Abdullah II at the Basman Palace on Wednesday afternoon. The bilateral meeting focused on issues including Palestine, specifically for the Gaza and West Bank regions.
