Jordan Intercepts Six Iranian Missiles, Four Destroyed

Military sources told Jordan’s national news agency, Petra, that the country’s air defence systems detected six missiles fired from Iran towards Jordanian territory. The missiles were intercepted immediately after entering Jordanian airspace. According to the source, four missiles were successfully destroyed, whilst the other two fell in a remote, uninhabited area without causing any casualties or property damage. The Jordanian military also confirmed that the country’s airspace remains under continuous operational monitoring. Petra did not specify the locations where the Iranian missiles were intercepted or where they fell. However, Jordanian media had previously reported that explosions were heard in Aqaba after warning sirens were sounded to alert residents of a possible attack from Iran. Meanwhile, Israeli media Ynet reported that an Arkia flight from Tel Aviv to Eilat altered its flight path after explosions were heard from the direction of Jordan. The report also stated that a flight from Abu Dhabi to Tel Aviv experienced a delay whilst still in the air.
