Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced retaliatory strikes against United States military bases in the Middle East and Israeli air bases. Jordan intercepted missiles that entered its airspace whilst air raid sirens sounded across Israel.

According to Al Jazeera, on Sunday 1 March 2026, it was reported that Jordan’s air defence systems intercepted missiles entering the airspace above the capital, Amman. Jordan also intercepted missiles that entered northern regions.

This occurred as air raid sirens continued to sound within and around Tel Aviv in Israel.

Previously, the IRGC announced it was conducting a sixth wave of attacks in retaliation for US-Israeli bombing campaigns against Iran. Explosions were reported heard in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and Doha, Qatar.

According to Al Jazeera and AFP on Sunday 1 March 2026, Iran announced it had launched large-scale missile and drone attacks against Israeli and US military bases in the Arab region. The IRGC claimed that 27 US military bases, as well as Israel’s Tel Nof Air Base, the Israeli military command headquarters at HaKirya in Tel Aviv, and a major defence industry complex in the same city were targeted.

Iranian forces would implement different and severe retaliatory measures with successive strikes that were regretted. Explosions were reported heard across various locations following Iran’s announcement of the attacks.
