Jordan condemns Israeli settlers' raid on Al-Aqsa Mosque

Jordan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs condemned on Sunday the incursion of Israeli settlers into the Al-Aqsa Mosque complex, who raised flags and chanted slogans within the mosque grounds under Israeli police escort. The ministry described the act as a blatant violation of international law, a condemned escalation, and unacceptable provocation that must be immediately halted. Ministry spokesperson Ambassador Fuad Al-Majali reiterated Jordan’s firm rejection and strong condemnation of ongoing attacks on Al-Aqsa. He condemned the provocative actions, describing them as serious breaches of the historical and legal status quo at the site, and an attempt to divide access based on time or specific areas. He stressed that Israel has no sovereignty over occupied Jerusalem or the Islamic and Christian holy sites in the area. Al-Majali warned of the consequences of continued violations and provocations, urging the international community to take a firm stance and compel Israel, as the occupying power, to stop all irresponsible practices and ongoing violations against Muslim and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, as well as its unilateral actions in the occupied West Bank.
