Jong Fest 2026 has presented a variety of engaging activities, featuring MSME stalls run by Sekaa Teruna (youth organisations), sports competitions, traditional and cultural contests, English language quizzes, and a mini penjor competition.

The event was organised by the Kapal Village administration in collaboration with the Traditional Village and various community elements at the Pratu Made Linggih Field, Kapal, Mengwi, running from 25 September to 27 September 202<0xC2>6.

“Jong Fest is the first event of its kind that we have held in Kapal, collaborating with the traditional village, various youth organisations, and others. The goal is to develop the concept of Aci Tabuh Rah Pengangon or Siat Tipat,” said the Head of Kapal Village, I Nyoman Adi Setiawan, in a written statement on Wednesday (30/9/2026).

He noted that Jong Fest also serves as a medium to introduce Kapal’s culture while simultaneously developing the community’s potential.

“We want to demonstrate that in addition to having a strong culture, Kapal also possesses human resources that can be developed, including in the fields of MSMEs, sports, and entrepreneurship,” he added.

A total of 17 Sekaa Teruna were given the opportunity to operate MSME stalls during Jong Fest 2026. Through this, they learned business management and generated income for their organisations’ funds.

“From those 17 Sekaa Teruna, we provided the opportunity to learn entrepreneurship and self-reliance, so they could earn funds through their own hard work,” said Adi.

In addition to MSMEs, Adi mentioned that the English language quiz was one of the most interesting and relatively new activities in the festival.

“The most interesting part was the English language quiz because this competition is being held for the first time,” he remarked.

There was also a mini penjor competition. This activity provided a space to develop the concept of the penjor (traditional Balinese bamboo ornament) in a simpler form.

“This mini penjor allows us to minimise the scale of large penjors, while introducing a new concept for how penjors might evolve in the future,” he added.

His office expressed appreciation for the support provided by the Badung Regency Government for Jong Fest 2026. He expressed hope that the event could be held at least once every two years.

“We are very grateful to the Badung Regency Government because the entire budget was backed by them. We hope this activity can be implemented at least every two years,” stated Adi.

He noted that the community has welcomed Jong Fest warmly, as the event provides a space for residents to engage in activities outside of their traditional customary duties.

“Our community, particularly in Kapal, has been eagerly awaiting an event like this because it offers many activities outside of our customary obligations,” Adi concluded.
