The strengthening of the role of young entrepreneurs in the regions is a key focus ahead of the National Congress of the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (Hipmi). Regional aspirations are deemed necessary to be accommodated in the organisation’s future policy directions.

In that context, the Banten Regional Management Board (BPD) of Hipmi has expressed support for Ade Jona Prasetyo as a prospective candidate for the national chairman of the Central Management Board of Hipmi. The support recommendation was given when Jona, along with the head of the Success Team Sona Maesana, met with the General Chairman of the BPD Hipmi Banten, Rifky Hermiansyah, on Monday (13/4/2026). The meeting was also attended by Deputy Minister for the Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers Dzulfikar Ahmad Tawalla and Banten Governor Andra Soni.

Rifky assessed that Jona has the capacity to lead Hipmi based on his organisational track record and experience in government. “We see that Jona is capable of realising the aspirations of Hipmi colleagues from the branch management boards to the regional levels,” Rifky said in a statement received on Monday (13/4/2026).

According to Rifky, the support was given considering the aspirations of the branch and regional executives in Banten. He believes that organisational synergy can propel young entrepreneurs to the next level and possess global competitiveness.

Banten Governor Andra Soni views Hipmi’s role as important in supporting economic development. The government, Andra said, needs collaboration with business actors to drive societal welfare.

“Therefore, the role of the Hipmi general chairman will determine economic performance. Moreover, the majority of Hipmi members are UMKM, and it should be remembered that these UMKM are the heroes of the nation’s economy,” Andra stated.

In response to the support, Jona expressed appreciation to Hipmi Banten. He invited all BPDs to strengthen Hipmi’s role as a forum for young entrepreneurs.

“Thank you for the support and messages given. To realise that vision, we must first strive in the National Congress. Please offer prayers and support,” Jona said.
