Jombang Regency Ranks Third in Unemployment Reduction Across Java-Bali Region

Jombang Regency, East Java, has secured third place in the Best Regency-Level Unemployment Rate Reduction category for the Java-Bali region. The award was received directly by Jombang Regent Warsubi from the Coordinating Minister for Political and Security Affairs, Djamari Chaniago, during the 2026 Regional Java-Bali Outstanding Local Government Awards ceremony held in Yogyakarta on Thursday evening (4/6). In addition to receiving a trophy, Jombang Regency also received a fiscal incentive fund of Rp1 billion from the central government. Following the award ceremony, Regent Warsubi expressed gratitude and emphasised that the recognition is dedicated to the entire community of Jombang and the regional apparatus organisations that have worked diligently on the ground. “Alhamdulillah, this award is a tangible result of the hard work, mutual cooperation, and synergy of all elements of society and the Jombang Regency Government,” he said. Warsubi stated that the award belongs entirely to the people of Jombang. Regarding the Rp1 billion fiscal incentive, the Regent said it will be reallocated in a targeted and accountable manner. He added that the funds will be used to expand new employment opportunities, strengthen MSMEs, and improve youth competency training. “We also ask for the support of the Jombang community so that Jombang remains conducive and comfortable for investors,” said Warsubi. He stressed that this award is a form of national recognition for the commitment and measurable work of the Jombang Regency Government. The Unemployment Rate Reduction category assesses the seriousness of regional heads in formulating manpower policies that have a direct impact on society. The event, initiated by the Ministry of Home Affairs in collaboration with Metro TV, was also attended by high-ranking state officials. Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian stated that awarding fiscal incentives aims to foster a healthy competitive climate while appreciating regional heads with good and outstanding performance records. In his speech, the Governor of the Special Region of Yogyakarta, Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X, as the host, congratulated the winners and reminded them that the essence of the award is a responsibility to continue moving forward. “To the award recipients, I extend my heartfelt congratulations. What you have accomplished in your respective regions is not only an achievement but also a real inspiration for Indonesia,” said Sri Sultan Hamengku Buwono X.
